KEY OUTPUTS AND INTENDED OUTCOME

Denmark is a global organic frontrunner, despite our moderate size. Through OS25, we will share our experiences with the rest of the world and be challenged to improve organic measures further. The combination of the Danish EU Presidency and the EU’s ambitions for organics, means that OS25 could be a decisive turning point in placing organic farming at the centre of the much-needed debate on the sustainable future of agriculture.

There are two main tangible outputs of OS25 - with the intention to become tools for future international work:

  • An OS25 Summit Statement with concrete proposals for initiatives that will ensure reaching the ambitious EU target of 25 percent organic agriculture by 2030, and in the process of doing so, developing organic farming methods as a central tool for solving the major global environmental and food crises.
  • An OS25 Organic Charter within the tracks “the land”, “the animals” and “the food”, and cross cutting aspects of politics, science and business. OS25 will be the starting point of a much more comprehensive conversation about the potentials and challenges of organic agriculture to play a more decisive role in shaping the future of farming.

The overall objective and intended outcome of OS25 is thus to illustrate and demonstrate the wider importance of organic farming methods through inspiration, sharing and challenging the way organics is practised today in many parts of Europe and beyond.
